Updated March 2006, version 0.7

Ok, this section may result completely irrelevant, but it is great fun nevertheless... I'm confident that each seeker has encountered some of these 'weird' search engines. And maybe it's nice to have a place where to "dump" them. This will demonstrate -again- that the web is really deep (and really weird).

Funny and weird search engines

"GREEK PI" SEARCH ENGINE

There's even a search engine for GREEK PI "number sequences" engine (more than 200 million digits)... try searching for your birthday... mine is at position 24.230.405, counting from the first digit after the decimal point (the 3. is not counted).

"BIBLE PASSAGES" SEARCH ENGINE

Try "Psalm 47" or "John 2:16" or try again "Psalm 47" after having chosen "Biblia en Lenguaje Sencillo"

"FIND A GRAVE" SEARCH ENGINE

A tag americanocentric and a tag crap, but hey! You can snoop around cemeteries! Try president, prostitute or poet...

Enter name and/or bio keyword(s)...

"WEATHER LONG AGO" SEARCH ENGINE

What if I want to know how was the weather, say, three years ago in some place?
-"Tell me about the 3 December 1998, for instance... was it cold in Berlin?"

Easy: Never underestimate the awesome MIGHT of the web: T'was pretty cold indeed: -7 ~ -4 Celsius...
http://www.weatherunderground.com/history/airport/EDDI/1998/12/3/DailyHistory.html

Note how the query is composed:
http://www.weatherunderground.com/history/airport/EDDI/1998/12/3/DailyHistory.html
"EDDI" is here the ICAO code for Tempelhof, the city airport in berlin... should you want, instead, the weather for Paris (Orly) you would use LFPO, for Brussels, you would use EBBR and so on.
You will find all possible (ICAO) airport codes here...

Here the "weather long ago" search mask:
(KCQT is Losangeles downtown... change with a different three (IATA) or four (ICAO) letters airport code)

Chocolate

http://chocolocate.com/
Example: http://chocolocate.com/country.php/Switzerland/

Cocoa butter melts at around 37C, which is human body temperature, duh. That's why real chocolate melts in the mouth, while the crap they often sell "as chocolate" (imitations made with tropical oils and no or few cocoa butter) does not.
